Kindu, Maniema Province – Adv. Flory Okandju, Executive Secretary of the Central Corridor engaged extensively with the local community in a strategic orientation session on the Electrified Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts and commitments to implement the Multinational SGR Project, which aims to enhance regional connectivity between Tanzania, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with Maniema as a crucial hub.
The engagement took place during the Conference on Environment, Tourism, Agriculture, and Sustainable Development, presided over by H.E. Governor Moïse Mussa. The event attracted a diverse audience, including senior government officials, representatives from the public and private sectors, the business community, scholars, media personnel, and local citizens.
During the session, participants gained valuable insights into the project’s vision, current progress, future plans, and the integral role of the Maniema community in ensuring its success.
