CCTTFA, with support from TradeMark Africa (TMA), convened a high-level Stakeholder Engagement Meeting on 22 January 2026 in Dar es Salaam to address drivers’ safetyand trade security along the Lubumbashi–Tunduma traderoute.

The meeting brought together public and private sectorstakeholders, including transporters, truck drivers’ associations, clearing and forwarding agents, and governmentrepresentatives, to strengthen coordination and agree on practical measures to improve security and trade facilitation along the Southern Route of the Central Corridor.

This engagement follows similar consultations in Lubumbashi (DRC) and Ndola (Zambia) and forms part of a corridor-wideintervention supported by TMA. The initiative focuses on addressing persistent challenges such as security incidents, cargo theft, long border delays, multiple checkpoints, and limited emergency response capacity, particularly along the Lubumbashi–Tunduma–Dar es Salaam corridor and at key border points.

Through this initiative, CCTTFA and TradeMark Africa reaffirm their commitment to safer transport, efficient trade, and stronger regional integration, in line with SADC and AfCFTA objectives.
