The Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency (CCTTFA) Secretariat has a new Executive Secretary Advocate OKANDJU OKONGE Flory from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Advocate OKANDJU takes the helms from Capt. Dieudonne Dukundane whose term has come to an end.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony that took place at the CCTTFA Secretariat offices in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Adv. OKANDJU vowed to maintain the same momentum as his predecessor to actively promote the use of the Central Corridor to increase cargo traffic. “My focus is to continue the Central Corridor agenda as stated in the 5-year strategic plan endorsed by member countries on national and regional initiatives.”

The Central Corridor strategic plan aims to facilitate the development of integrated transportation and trade networks along the Central Corridor as well as harmonization of processes to ease movement of goods and people along the corridor and across borders.

The outgoing Executive Secretary Capt. Dieudonne Dukundane thanked Secretariat staff for their team spirit and support throughout his 6 years tenure and reiterated the team accord the same support to the incumbent. “We have made great strides as an organization regionally in these 6 years by helping member countries to prioritize on improving logistic and transport infrastructure as well as trade facilitation. I leave you in capable hands of Adv. OKANDJU and I urge you all to keep working towards achieving greater heights for this precious organization and for the member states.”

Adv. OKANDJU 3-year appointment officially commenced on May 18th 2022 after being confirmed by the Executive Board and endorsed by the Interstate Council of Ministers.
