CCTTFA, Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) and Tanzania Embassy in DRC hosted a delegation of business community (ACCAD & FEC) from North Kivu (Goma) and South Kivu (Bukavu, Uvira, Kalemie) in DRC. The delegation was on a 2-day visit with the intention to visit the port of Dar es Salaam and learn about its developments and operations.

                         

The delegation’s first stop was at CCTTFA Secretariat Head Office in Dar es Salaam where they had a courtesy meeting with the Executive Secretary Adv. OKANDJU OKONGE Flory who welcomed them to Dar es Salaam and urged them to utilize their visit wisely and network with fellow businessmen in Tanzania.

                       

The delegation had an opportunity to meet with DRC Ambassador in Tanzania H.E. .E. Jean Pierre Massala who welcomed them and urged them to strengthen business networks with Tanzanian counterparts while on their visit.

                       

The delegation also visited Tanzanite Station to learn more about the developments on the SGR construction and how the project will benefit DRC businesses once complete. They were hosted by Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) Head of Operations Mr. Sahani and Lot 1 (Dar – Morogoro) Project Manager Eng. Thadei.

                     

Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) management led by Acting Director General Dr. Hussein Lufunyo hosted the business delegation at their HQ in Dar es Salaam and held fruitful discussions on increasing business opportunities for mutual benefit. They also took them on a tour of Dar Port to witness its developments and operations.

                           

On day 2 of their visit DRC business community paid a courtesy call to Dr. Stergomena Tax, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation accompanied by their hosts CCTTFA Executive Secretary and TPA Act. Director General. They discussed cooperation between the two countries  and urged them to keep doing business with Tanzania and using the port of Dar es Salaam. 

                             

They later held a meeting with stakeholders from clearing and forwarding companies, transporters, government agencies like TPA, TRA, TICTS, TRC, TAFFA & TATOA where they had a Q & A session and networking session to exchange business contacts and forge cooperation with their associations.

                             

Later in the day they were hosted by CRDB Bank at their Head Quarters presenting to them their plan to open the bank in DRC starting with Lubumbashi.
