Berlin, Germany; As part of his ongoing work visit to Berlin, the Executive Secretary of the Central Corridor, Adv. Flory Okandju, participated in the Africa–Europe Industry Dialogue on Railways held during InnoTrans 2026.
The dialogue brought together government representatives, financiers, corridor institutions and railway industry leaders to discuss the role of railways in strengthening integrated economic corridors, regional connectivity, trade and investment.
The discussions highlighted the importance of modern railway infrastructure, interoperability, innovation and increased investment in building efficient and sustainable transport networks. For the Central Corridor, strengthening rail connectivity remains critical to improving the movement of goods between the Port of Dar es Salaam and the land-linked countries served by the Corridor, while supporting regional trade and economic development.
Adv. Okandju also visited leading international railway companies showcasing the latest rolling stock, signalling systems, digital maintenance solutions and other railway technologies.
The engagements provided valuable insights into emerging technologies and international best practices that can inform the Central Corridor’s efforts to advance modern, efficient and interoperable railway connectivity.
CCTTFA will continue leveraging such international engagements to strengthen partnerships, facilitate knowledge exchange and explore investment and technology cooperation opportunities that can contribute to the transformation of the Central Corridor into a more efficient, competitive and sustainable economic corridor.
