Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Executive Secretary of the Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency (CCTTFA), Adv. Flory Okandju, was among the invited guests at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the construction of a Mega Oil Receiving and 15 Storage Tanks Project at the Port of Dar es Salaam, Kigamboni.

The ceremony was officiated by H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, marking the official commencement of the multi-trillion shillings project that will be owned and managed by the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA).

The project represents a major milestone in Tanzania’s maritime and energy sector development. Once completed, the facility will significantly enhance the country’s capacity to receive and store petroleum products, strengthening the efficiency and reliability of the national and regional energy supply chain.

The development is also expected to reinforce the strategic role of the Port of Dar es Salaam as a key gateway for international trade, serving Tanzania and several land-linked countries that rely on the Central Corridor for the transportation of goods.

For the Central Corridor, the project represents a major step forward in strengthening critical logistics and energy infrastructure, which plays an essential role in facilitating trade, improving supply chain efficiency, and supporting economic growth across the Corridor’s Member States.
