Tanzania – The Central Corridor witnessed a significant milestone as the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Burundi Dry Port facilities at Kwala Dry Port in Tanzania took place. The event was graced by the presence of the Executive Secretary of the Central Corridor, Adv. Flory OKANDJU, alongside Hon. Nijimbere and Dr. Possi, who officially inaugurated the ceremony.
Coordinated by the Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency (CCTTFA) Secretariat, the construction of the Burundi Dry Port is set to improve trade infrastructure and connectivity within the region. By addressing logistical hurdles, enhancing cargo handling efficiency, and creating a smoother transit route for Burundi, this project promises to be a game-changer.
The Burundi Dry Port is expected to reduce transit time, lowering costs, increasing trade volume, etc. This development aligns with the overarching goal of the Central Corridor to facilitate seamless trade and economic growth in the region.
