In March 2025, the Member States jointly agreed on a Vision for the Corridor’s transformation: “An integrated green corridor driving shared prosperity through industrialization and Trade Facilitation”. Member States also selected the first four priority Regional Value Chains (RVCs) that will realize this Vision, namely: E-Mobility (and critical minerals); Agri-Business (Horticulture); Iron & Steel; and Pharmaceuticals.
Since then, CCTTFA, in collaboration with GIZ, has undertaken deep-dive assessments of the four Regional Value Chains. The assessments, including fieldwork visits to the Central Corridor Member States (Burundi, DRC, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia), were carried out in August and September. The findings and recommendations of the draft report for each RVC will be discussed and validated with key stakeholders during the GEDC Regional Value Chains Assessment Workshop, to take place 16-17 October 2025, at Johari Rotana Hotel, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
