Kilosa, Morogoro, Tanzania – Today, the Central Corridor’s Executive Secretary, Adv. Flory Okandju, participated in the official launch of the Rail Cold Chain Program. The program is a crucial component of Tanzania’s broader strategy to increase cargo transportation by rail along the Central Corridor.
Designed to facilitate the transport of temperature-sensitive goods, such as perishable food items, the Rail Cold Chain Program aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of Tanzania’s logistics network.
The launch of the Rail Cold Chain Program comes at a time when Tanzania is actively investing in its transportation infrastructure. This investment is expected to drive economic growth and development, while also reducing the country’s reliance on road transport. As the Rail Cold Chain Program matures, it is anticipated that Tanzania will see a substantial increase in the volume of cargo transported by rail.
