Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire – A delegation from the Central Corridor, led by the Executive Secretary Adv. Flory Okandju, is currently participating in the 2nd AfDB Transport Forum in Abidjan. The forum, a key event for promoting transport development in Africa, has provided a platform for discussing critical issues related to connectivity and infrastructure development.
During a session focused on African connectivity, the Executive Secretary of the Central Corridor highlighted the significant progress made in enhancing rail, road, and waterway infrastructure along the corridor. He emphasized the importance of these investments in fostering regional trade, economic growth, and social development.
He also underscored the ongoing challenges in securing adequate funding for these vital transport infrastructure projects. Despite the substantial benefits that these investments will bring to the region, financing remains a major obstacle. The delegation is actively advocating for increased support from international financial institutions, development partners, and the private sector to address this funding gap.
