Following the success of the 1st Workshop on the Transformation of the Central Corridor from a transit transport corridor into a Green Economic Development Corridor (GEDC), held from 19–20 March 2025, where the delegates representing the seven Member States of the Central Corridor, selected the four Regional Value Chains (RVCs), E-Mobility, Iron and Steel, Agro-Business, and Pharmaceutical, the 2nd Workshop was convened from 16–17 October 2025.
The workshop brought together delegates from all Member States to validate the findings and recommendations of the draft reports developed for these four RVCs. The discussions ensured that the proposed strategies are practical, sustainable, and aligned with regional development priorities.
Participants also focused on the development of a Roadmap for the short-, medium-, and long-term advancement of the RVCs. The Roadmap outlines key interventions and milestones to accelerate green economic transformation, enhance intra-regional trade, and strengthen the competitiveness of the Central Corridor.
A highlight of the workshop was the presentation of Catalytic Anchor Projects (CAPs), strategic initiatives selected for their potential to unlock the full economic potential of the region. These projects are designed to drive sustainable industrialization, create green jobs, and promote environmentally responsible transport and logistics along the Corridor.
The 2nd Workshop reaffirmed the continued commitment of the CCTTFA Member States and development partners to advancing the green transformation agenda and positioning the Central Corridor as a model for inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Africa.
