CCTTFA signs cooperation agreement with the Port of Antwerp Training Centre

The Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency (CCTTFA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Antwerp Port Training Centre (APEC) to establish and deepen cooperation on matters related to maritime transport and port operations management for Central Corridor Countries.

The Cooperation would be on basis of experience sharing, create economic opportunities and promote investments. It will also involve facilitating liaison between the two parties in order to develop mutually beneficial initiatives.

Subjects of interest under the MOU include capacity building and experience sharing in the areas of maritime transport, port support services, offshore navigation support services and auxiliary services to marine transport.

According to the CCTTFA Executive Secretary Capt. Dieudonne Dukundane, the cooperation may cover capacity building and training of experts from Central Corridor member countries of Tanzania, Burundi, DRC, Uganda and Rwanda. It will also cover expert exchange to support regulatory frameworks and policy formulation.
