The TTFA Mission is:

“To Facilitate Provision of Efficient Corridor Infrastructure and Services”

 

In order to further the Mission, TTFA has to ensure:

  • The sustained availability of the Central Corridor
  • The reliability of the corridor infrastructure and its services
  • The competitiveness of the costs involved in using the Corridor
  • Co-ordination and harmonization of procedures for ease of use,
  • Minimization of delays, and
  • The predictability of costs and times

Mandate and Objectives

There are four overall purposes set out in the Agreement by the five contracting countries that are essentially the policy for the Central Corridor, namely:

  • To promote the use of the Central Corridor
  • To grant each other the right of transit in order to facilitate movement of goods through their respective territories and to provide all possible facilities for traffic in transit between them
  • To take all necessary measures for the expeditious movement of traffic and for the avoidance of unnecessary delays in the movement of goods in transit through their territories
  • To strategically position the Central corridor as the most efficient in East and Central Africa so as to contribute positively to poverty alleviation programmes in member states
